Everything you log lives only on your phone. We run no servers and have no accounts — we cannot see, recover, or hand over your records. That's the design, not a limitation. Details in the Privacy Policy.
No — and we mean it kindly: we never had your data, so we can't restore it. Restore from your latest backup export (Settings → Export). If you don't have one, your signed PDFs and CSVs you've shared out (email, cloud) are your record. Then start the backup habit: export every month.
Old phone: Settings → Export backup (JSON) → save it to your email or cloud drive. New phone: install Pushboat Log → Settings → Import. Pro unlocks restore through the store (below).
Settings → Restore purchases, signed into the same Apple ID or Google account that bought it. Lifetime and subscription both restore this way.
Billing is handled entirely by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel anytime in your store subscription settings (App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Google Play: Payments & subscriptions). Refunds follow the store's policy — request them through Apple/Google. We can't issue store refunds directly.
Free: the projection calculator, license ladder, and a log capped at 3 hitches. Pro (annual or one-time lifetime): unlimited hitches, letter builder + CG-719S export, tankerman transfer log, signature capture, TOAR tracker, captain's log, reminders, and PDF/Excel exports.
The app formats everything the way NMC guidance describes — but NMC evaluators make every determination, and we can't guarantee acceptance. Every export also works as a print-and-sign version for company letterhead. When in doubt, call the NMC: 1-888-427-5662. See the reference links inside the app (License tab) to read the source documents yourself.
Fleet practice: you and your relief split crew-change day, so the first and last day of a hitch count ½ each — that way the day is only counted once between the two of you. You can change this in Settings if your company letters count differently.
The boat you started the day on keeps it, always. The new boat's time starts the next calendar day. One boat per calendar day keeps your letters consistent.
Because the Coast Guard won't either — bunkering, fueling, and shifting cargo within a vessel are excluded from tankerman transfer credit (46 CFR 13.107(g)). The app only counts what NMC counts.
Signed records lock on purpose — that's what makes them credible. Editing a signed record voids its signature; the app will warn you, and you'll need the signer to re-sign the corrected record.
Clean the screen, remove a thick screen protector's air gap if present, and try a finger rather than a glove. If it persists, force-close and reopen the app, then email us your phone model.
Make sure a printer or "Save as PDF" destination is available in your phone's share/print dialog. CSV exports go through the standard share sheet — pick Files, email, or your cloud drive.
Check the app has notification permission (phone Settings → Pushboat Log → Notifications) and that battery-saver isn't restricting the app.
